Ok I feel compelled to write my own story regarding grief. My wife Claire died suddenly from a massive epileptic seizure 2 and 1/2 years ago. With me was my youngest son Léon,16. Eight months after she passed, as Léon was often away on weekends for sport I decided to take my chances on line, I met this lovely woman and we dated until shortly in the new year (15 months). I warned her that I needed to talk about Claire, if she didn’t understand this there was little possibility of a relationship. She was fine with this, she’d been a counsellor before.
As we parted in very good terms this year and we took stock on our time together I told her how my relationship with her helped through my grief. I am happier now, I don’t need anybody just this minute. The common thread with grieving is that we all do it differently.
